Students and parents traveled from station to station engaging in the various aspects of celebrating the High Holidays: Creating reflection stones, making Hebrew bracelets with words of hope, High Holiday Kahoot, Making apples and honey crafts, Apples and Honey tasting, Mock Tashlich using filter paper, music and learning and hearing the shofar sounds.

Attendees were able to learn about the diverse geography of Israel by making a sensory map of Israel using sandpaper for the desert, tissue paper and sea shells for the water, fake grass for the Golan regions and snow glitter for the mountain region. Assisted by our Special Education teacher, this activity showcases our commitment to providing students of all abilities the opportunity to learn and actively participate in their Jewish education.

We love being a part of the Manalapan community and feel it’s important that we showcase our commitment to both the Jewish and non-Jewish community alike. Speaking to members of our community allows us to learn more about what is needed in our community and work together with our leadership team to meet those needs.

Alongside Temple Beth Shalom, students joined in this year’s TBS Cares day, our annual day of community service. Children of all ages make beautiful greeting cards for seniors as part of the Sending Sunshine Campaign.

We believe that engaging students in hands-on and interactive ways is key to a rich and robust education. This year, our students worked in teams and participated in a Passover BreakoutEDU where they rotated between various stations to solve puzzles and challenges designed to help them unlock various locks to solve the activity and obtain their reward that would help them celebrate Passover. Students were then treated to some yummy chocolate matzah!

Students learned about the children of the Holocaust and then made beautiful butterflies to honor a child. Each child received the name of a child who was in the Holocaust and read their biographies to help them better honor them. The final display and readings of some of those biographies were showcased at Temple Beth Shalom’s annual Yom HaShoah Shabbat service.

After our annual consecration and graduation of the class of 2025, students, parents and staff were treated to a surprise with the Kona Shaved Ice Truck. A great way to end a great year!
